Had a wonderful experience there. Tons of books of all kinds from new releases to scrolls dating back centuries. I love to go there and just browse their collection. Lots of great stuff in the affordable range, including old magazines and comics.
Great amazing old books. You'll definitely find more than one book to take home. It's a treasure trove.
Nice selection of secondhand books that you expect to be expensive - leather bounds, old books, etc. It was interesting to browse even though it is small, and i spent a few hours here! Downside is that everything is expensive. The prints in particular seemed unnecessarily overpriced. $300 for an engraving print seems unreasonable for a random old piece with not much historical value. I managed to find a leatherbound copy of candide here in great condition for $20.
It's a nice store that I've bought many books from over the past few years, but the new bag policy is frustrating. Their sign warns you not to leave valuables unattended, but you can't even keep purses with you. I'll probably avoid the store in the future, which is a shame given it's a more convenient location than, say, Capitol Hill Books, but it's not worth it anymore.
