This February, my father had to go into hospice. When I first got guardianship of him, I had no idea his cancer was never in remission. When I got to see him, he was in so much pain and he was just extremely uncomfortable. We gave him one last rode down south to us with the help of the hospital in Ladysmith and the transport company. I did not feel comfortable leaving my father alone at AccentCare Inpatient Center at Lutheran Home. They were severely understaffed. I understand the labor market issues, but if AccentCare does not have sufficient staff they should not admit as many patients. I also understand that the staff needs to know about a discharge plan if a patient makes a miraculous recovery, however; I was asked at least three times by AccentCare. One of the times I was asked about our discharge plan and how we would be paying by the “chaplain”. T... read more

The place is clean but some of the hospice nurses need to be removed from their duties.
They took wonderful care of my father during his final days. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff there. Thank you for the dignity you gave my father. We appreciated you playing music in his room.
