Literally five days until closing and I was hit with an appraisal that valued the home at $16,000 less than the purchase price. The demanded that I pay out the difference. When I couldn't come up with that much money in such a short time, I was forced to cancel the contract. That same house is now listed at $20,000 over the appraisal value. They know exactly what it's worth according to their own appraisers, but they jacked up the price for the next person? Just shady and miserable.

I noticed my center island on one side where my dishwasher is, the electrical socket burnt-out and was smoking. Upon touch the wall where the socket is, I noticed dampness. I had to call my own private contractors because When I called Richmond American they said there was nothing they can do. My contactor opened up the center island because there is obvious water damage; the trash he found stuffed into the space under the center island is quite disturbing.
