This is the 2nd time Mehrdad has come out to service one of our appliances. He is excellent: thorough, knowledgeable, and great at explaining the situation. What I didn’t love is Sears increasing use of AI chatbots. Made checkout take way too long (why would I want a chatbot to explain the repair service while a qualified technician who has actually sen my appliance stands there?) and was also glitchy during the appointment confirmation call.
Our tech, Alex, gets 5*. He was thorough with checking out appliance. He was polite and knowledgeable. This was a warranty job. The AI system for Sears gets a 1*. We needed to chat with a human and it did not give us an option for it. The system labeled our refrigerator as a dishwasher.
Alex was very nice. He explained the problem. I trusted him. The quote for repairs was outrageous. The recommended part was price quoted of $200, on-line this part was found to cost less than $40.
[EDIT: Look at how Sears gives everyone the same response. Use the same website I'm complaining about? Call the same AI on the phone? TONE DEAF.] Just cancelled. My experience with corporate has been an absolute disaster. Neither customers nor tecnicians can speak to a human being. My appointments were rescheduled at least three times per appointment, and the technician never ever can make it on the first attempted date.
