Dr. Crowe preformed an emergency strangulation hernia surgery on me. He was very patient and took his time/explained everything in detail that had occurred/what he was going to do to fix it. He asked if I had any questions. It was very refreshing to meet a doctor who takes the time to have more than a 5 minute experience/ a 3 minute follow up.
I saw Dr Crowe because I had a polyp impacting a nerve in my neck. He was unable to get my insurance to cover its removal. We even appealed to the state and went through a judicial process. The judge said that the problem was the way his office coded it. I went to another Dr for a second opinion and the insurance responded that no prior authorization was needed, and that the procedure was covered. Very happy with my visit. Appointment was on time and Dr Crowe asked a lot of questions, listened to my concerns and explained things well. He called personally after a test result came in - was shocked to not just get a MyChart message!
After 27 years I'm getting my gallstones removed. Found the right doctor.
I am grateful for the genuine kindness of the surgery team at St Vincent. From the nurses to the surgeon to each member of the check-in staff, I was treated with respect from the moment I showed up to the moment I left. I never felt like I was a random patient going in for a routine surgery, but rather as a valued human being that was deserving of the highest quality care. I’m glad such a dedicated and passionate group of individuals were in charge of my recent surgery.
