This experience was a glaring example of how the medical system is failing patients in this province. I arrived on time then waited 20 minutes while 4 receptionists loudly chatted about TV shows while doing nothing. Then I was rushed through a quick eye exam by an unsanitary assistant. After another 45mins, I finally saw the doctor—who was rude, dismissive, and condescending, never introducing himself, and completely ignoring my concerns about migraines and light sensitivity tied to my Bell's palsy. The best clinic for eye in Nanaimo! Doctors are super professional and patient! Their staff are kind and helpful!
The wait times are ridiculous. A simple appointment to ask a question means anywhere from 1 to 2 1/2 hours of waiting. Packed waiting room means they are prioritizing profit by overbooking. When I finally get to see the doctor, I only get to ask a couple of questions before he walks out of the room. Every time I come they want to dilate my eyes which is profoundly excessive. I hate this doctor's office.
