I wouldn't have my son anywhere else. At Seabury, he is surrounded by people who encourage his geeky intellectual self to be HIMSELF. I can't imagine the kind of boredom (at best) and bullying (at worst) he would encounter in a school not designed for gifted kids. He LOVES school and comes home content and sated every day, excited to return.
Best gifted education in the south sound! Individualized instruction by teachers who understand gifted kids.
Seabury Middle School gave our son a whole new perspective on learning in "school" with peers he could relate to. Attending Seabury was the first time he really enjoyed learning, was challenged and heartfully supported all at the same time. For a Twice Exceptional student like our son, Seabury built his confidence in directing and being responsible for his own learning.
My children never loved going to school before they started Seabury. Now, they do.
I attended Seabury as a child from Kindergarten through 8th grade, graduating in 2001. Seabury was a driving force in shaping the person I am today, both academically and personally. I now serve on the Board of Trustees, and the same basic principles of educating gifted youth through "outside the box" teaching methods still holds true as it did during my time there. Seabury is a fantastic school for your gifted child.
My daughter's last day of Pre-K for this year, was last week. So much changed in this school year, and 3 schools later, she found a home where she has thrived and grown so much. Without Seabury, we would have pulled her from school entirely last year, and I would have gone crazy trying to keep up with her. Instead, she is already excited for next year, and so are we.
Oh god, where do I start? No idea how to work with anyone on the autism spectrum, and made little effort in the time I spent there to curb bullying. Dealing with this school was expensive and a nightmare.
Seabury School has a 4.7 star rating with 29 reviews.
Seabury School is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
