After three prior phone calls I drove 2 hours from Oakdale NY to Secaucus NJ. Only when I arrived was I informed they no longer serviced Ocean Safety rafts. I reviewed the website which had no mention of this and was informed by an employee, who was courteous and apologetic, that the site was old and needed to be updated. The same employee stated that someone on one of those calls should have asked the make and model. Needed the battery replaced in the PLB. It was done and certified in about 1 hour. Call ahead and ask for Monique to make an appointment, don't just walk in or you may have to leave your PLB and pick it up a few days later. Price quoted was accurate. Nice place, nice people, ample parking. Monique, thank you!
Had my life raft recertified by Sea Safety. It was a hard case and hydrostat release. The office called and stated it was x amount for everything to be done. Got the raft back and when I got home noticed the hydrostatic release was not attached. Called the office and they stated the raft needed it and that I can pick it up or have it shipped for 125 dollars. Terrible way to do business and give the raft to the customer without the proper equipment, in addition to wanting to charge extra after I paid the amount they requested... read more
