I have seen lots of reviews for Sea Captains House and all are very mixed, now I understand why. The atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome, but it doesn't quite live up to the expectation. We started with the crab dip and tortilla chips, it was okay. Nothing amazing but not bad. I had the ribeye and baked potato with shrimp. My shrimp were super overcooked and my steak a little over done as well. My daughter had the chicken tenders and fries and she said they were okay. Hush puppies, sweet tea, nostalgic feeling, good vibes, good food. :)
The hush puppies are delicious! I use to love the pasta salad but they changed the recipe & now it tastes like Suddenly Salad in a box. I’m a little disappointed
Great food at a reasonable price
I went there with friends for dinner. We were early and they're were not seating for dinner yet. We sat outside had a drink waiting for a table. The waitstaff was very professional. She made recommendations and my friends followed them. Our dinner was great. It was a great experience. Great atmosphere and beautiful views of the ocean.
We went here while honeymooning in Myrtle Beach. Wonderful service, atmosphere and especially the food. Definitely recommend this fine restaurant to anyone coming to this area. Even surprised us with free dessert! Fabulous experience!
I was there last night, ordered shrimp and grits, grits were creamy style and filled the bowl which was very large, just too many grits, shrimp were grilled and very good. The she crab soup was delicious and our waitress lovely. My sister had a seafood dish that was good but the side dish of double stuffed potato wasnt. I would try again if back in the area but overall I was disappointed as the prices were more high end and you expect better.
Wonderful wait staff and management make dining at this Myrtle Beach establishment a must on your to do list while visiting the Grand Strand.
