I saw another 'specialist' for narcolepsy but after 10 plus years, no improvement. My primary doctor recommended Dr. Shorten. After more than a decade of significantly diminished quality of life, he turned things around very quickly. He's attentive, kind, knowledgeable, proactive, and an all-around God-send. In summary, Dr. Shorten gave me my life back.

Took 6 months for new appt. Was told he was an expert on Restless Legs Syndrome. He didn't know much of anything couldn't understand what I was taking for 15 years He has me so upset just cried didn't even have a tissue was terrible visit. Will never go back Told me next appt probably be 2 months!
Nothing but a pill pushing “Doctor” Prescribes Oxy like it’s candy.
This was my first time visiting a Neurologist and was a bit anxious. Dr. Shorten was one of the kindest most compassionate, caring, humble doctors I have ever met. He took his time and really listened. My journey is just beginning but I feel confident it will end well. I would highly recommend Dr. Shorten to anyone.

My experience with Dr. Shorten was super. His bedside manner was fabulous. He patiently listened to me (I didn’t want medications) and he took the time to research options. My bad headaches have reduced by an approximate 80%! It’s not my normal to “rate” professionals online, but my experience was too great to be silent.
Dr. Shorten treats my narcolepsy, migraines and most recently my seizure. It's wonderful to have a Dr that actually listens to me and seems to really care about me.
Dr. Shorten and his office staff are very friendly and efficient. He takes time with you and you don't feel rushed at all. He listens to you and doesn't just automatically think he knows your body better than you. I highly recommend this office!!
