Dr Brotherton put my husband and I at ease, almost immediately, seeming very genuinely concerned and anxious to know about my husbands injury. It is very hard to come across a Doctor who listens to you and generally cares. From the first conversation with him I knew it was the right choice for my mother. I'm very impressed with the outcome of my reverse shoulder replacement, considering that my body wasn't providing the necessary bone or ligament to make the surgery successful, without borrowing from another area of my body or having extra prosthetics made! Dr. Brotherton made it all come together, so far, so good! My experience with Dr. Brotherton was a disaster from start to finish. My procedure that should have been a 1-2 week recovery turned into over 3 months to recover. He improperly installed the wound vac after surgery which resulted in mass infection. The day I had to go to the ER after almost having a heart attack from the pain and infection, he was at the hospital and refused to see me. He also refused to give me more pain medication while I was in the ER. At each visit after that, he was rude and distanced himself from me. ... read more
I absolutely adore Dr. Brotherton. I suffered from a bad meniscus tear and extensive arthritis on my right knee. He performed a surgery on it, and I began walking without help since day 3 post-surgery. I am doing more treatment as required because of arthritis, but I feel so much better, it is such a fantastic feeling! He is the best doctor, at least for knee issues. Very knowledgeable and very caring for his patients. Thank you, Dr. Brotheron!
Dr Brotherton is a caring highly skilled doctor. My daughter only 15 years old broke her fibula and tibula leg bones and surgery went well. She is healing nicely and has received exceptional care in his hands, the hospital he’s affiliated with Mease Dunedin and his entire staff. He even gave her a beautiful flower arrangement to wish her a speedy recovery which I thought was a very nice gesture and I’ve never seen that with a doctor. Thank you very much for taking great care of our daughter. Forever grateful. Her mom.

I went in frightened about possible surgery. Dr. Brotherton was awesome. He was calming and has a sense of humor. Got treatment, an education in joint health, recommendations and left feeling a lot better; mentally and physically. Great doctor.
Excellent surgeon and had wonderful bedside manner during surgery, but wished he would take a little more time and patience with answering questions. My surgery healing time is a long term process. Each time we met during during post-op visits, I felt as though he was always rushed and did not always provide sufficient information, or clear answers, on what to expect moving forward during post-surgery.
