Terrible doctor
I cannot recommend Dr. Fleischauer more highly. He handled the tangents that I threw him so well, and I've never felt anything but confidence that I could and would beat my cancer. I never felt rushed in my appointments.
He is easy to talk to & will take time to answer questions. The only negative I have is the wait time in the waiting area is too long & once you're in the exam room, it is entirely TOO long. The shortest wait time for us has been 30 minutes & two times an hour in the exam room. We would rather wait (if you must) in the waiting area vs the exam room. Also, the 1st time we went, we were clueless as to what to do. There needs to be more interaction from the receptionist telling you procedures.
I have referred a couple of friends, family members to Dr Fleischauer over the past 5 years. He is truly the best! Takes the time to explain and answer your questions and knows all about my daughters and always asks about her. I went to him with stage vi colon cancer that had spread to my left lung. Here I am 6 years cancer free. When you see Dr Fleischauer it's simply one of the worst moments of your life, and it is such a relief to know he is doing everything in his power to help you make it.
He's ok as a doc, but doesn't spend enough time with his patients. Spends more time in the hallway talking to his staff than with the patients in the room. Doesn't really answer questions, just skirts around them.
Dr. Fleischauer seemed more concerned with getting his job done than truly caring about the wellbeing of his patients. We felt checked off a a list, rather than being cared for in the great intensity of our situation. He did not share the full extent of the severity of the diagnosis until pressed in the hallway by one of my relatives. He seemed to give advice on a whim, without really thinking through or caring about what he was saying.
