Great Place to find that DEAL or UNIQUE item – I recently starting setting up @ the Scott show. It is a new experience for me but has been a VERY good one! As for some of the other reviews: - Vendors: Everyone I have met has been a character! I think you have to be in this business. Meshed within the different personalities, I have found that everyone is kind, courteous & knowledgeable. Remember, they are there doing what they love & hoping to sell items to people who will enjoy them. That's the goal: make money so they can ... read more
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY – We changed our route from GA to NC just to go to this event. We paid out ten dollars to get it and started through the booths. WHAT A WASTE. About a third of booths were not open. Most of the the booths and next to nothing in them! And of the JUNK they had, it was over priced. It was a JOKE. It was JUNK! We collect antiques and enjoy the hunt as much as the find, but this was neither. It is a SHAM. DO NOT GO!
Buyer beware at Scott's Antique Market – Caveat Emptor at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta. I spent an entire, thorough day there and spotted numerous fakes of various types of antiques and collectibles. Altered pieces, etc. Sellers misrepresenting what they're selling, giving wrong ages and origins of items, etc. I even got taken myself on a couple lower priced items and I thought I was savvy. And I wonder, if so much suspect stuff and sellers are there, why don't they self-police this? People are openly selling reproduc... read more
Very nice facility - Very high prices – Quite an interesting place to look around and spend an afternoon. Most merchants are very nice. Obvious good quality of merchandise such as furniture. Prices indoor on both food and merchandise seemed to be high for what I would expect at a once a month antique market. The outdoor merchants were in my experience more reasonable.
Huge Selection--Decent Prices – First off, let me say that this market is HUGE. You could spend all day looking around these two exhibition halls. The sheer size of the market ensures that you will probably find just about any antique piece you're looking for here. While I have noticed that many of the booths are overpriced, if you are an educated buyer and willing to negotiate a bit, there are certainly bargains to be had. We have had particularly good luck buying large pieces of furniture here. If price is a primary concer... read more
Serious antique buyers hit this show once a month for quality merchandise and reputable dealers. – The Deal On the second weekend of every month, antique hounds usually drive the truck to Scott, which caters to those looking for a handsome piece of furniture or china in excellent condition. Scott shoppers tend to have money to burn--watch out for sticker shock. At least the higher prices parallel the facilities; both buildings (one on either side of I-285) are air-conditioned and heated. The Goods Some of the best dealers ar... read more
Unique Finds! Fun Merchants! Can Haggle Prices! – I can't wait for this once a month event. You never know what you will find, and each booth is totally different, from merchandise, presentation, and the wonderful individuals who show their wares. Being a jewelry freak, so help me, I always find something I have to bring home. And most of the fun is the haggle of the price with the merchants. Such great people. It's like seeing old friends once a month. An Atlanta tradition.
