Not quite 2 years after purchasing a new Scotsman Meridian Ice Maker, the "top of the line" machine started making a terrible noise. I contacted a Scotsman certified service technician to investigate the problem. The water supply has always been filtered and the equipment was rarely used as our office is new and staffed at about 25%. I was told by the tech that the repair would cost over $7K, almost what we purchased it for less than 2 years prior. SCN60 last about 1 year, known problem. No warranty help from Scotsman

Terrible technical support. Technicians do not introduce themselves and just want to get you off the phone asap. Follett has much better customer service.

The only thing constant about this machine is that it breaks down constantly. The best way for it to run is to learn to fix it yourself. The service department would rather blame the customer rather than accept the fact they manufacture scrap metal. We had the machine 14 months and it was down 6 months. Don't waist your money!
