This branch is atrocious, they decided to hold my funds for no reason, ahould have been a simple cheque deposit. Getting in contact with them is impossible on the phone. The call contact center doesn't even have the extension for the branch manager. They lie to customers through their teeth about returning calls and seem to essentially be acting in the most anti-consumer practices possible. Managers and teller are all very friendly.
Without any warning or explanation, Scotiabank abruptly cancelled all my accounts, deactivated my bank cards, and revoked my power of attorney over my disabled mother’s account. As a result, I was forced to bring my mother—who suffers from advanced dementia and has severe mobility limitations—into the branch just to access her own funds. Their first response to any request is no, we don't do that. I tried to take cash out of my own account and they said no. I knew it was a large amount so I was ok to order and wait a few days and they said no. I wanted to order foreign currency and they said no, they don't do that and I have to go to a currency exchange place even though the scotiabank website states this service is available at any branch.
