After being with him 20+ years he just left me with another Dr. That left after 9 months and now I can’t even get ahold of him to ask questions about what I can do now! He has left me with trust issues with doctors at IU behavioral Health in Bloomington!!!
Dr. Schultheis is simply the best. Having been a patient for over ten years, I've always found him compassionate and willing to listen to my concerns. He stays up-to-date on new medications and treatments, but doesn't necessarily jump on the bandwagon. I would most definitely recommend Dr. Schultheis to family and friends.
Superior physician. His diagnostic skills are excellent. He pinpointed my needs and prescribed medications that greatly diminished my symptoms without need to experiment with other Rx alternatives. Fantastic, highly empathetic patient interaction.
Today I called Dr. Schultheis's office because I figured it was time for my annual appointment. The extremely unfriendly woman I talked to told me that my annual appointment was in November, and because I didn't show, that I am no longer a patient. She added that I would have to come back as a new patient, and that he is no longer accepting new patients. I said that I received no reminder phone call for my appointment in November. She said that that's what the reminder card is for.
Listens and takes time to explain and teach you about your condition. I wish there were more providers like him available. Even though he is booked his staff is good about getting options worked out to get seen when needed. Some have complained about wait time but it is clear he does not push people through his office. He takes extra if it is needed
