We were there for the first time. My husband had fish and chips. Sis and both hag clam chowder and salads. All was very tasty. Had a taste of my husband's fish. Batter light, it was great. We opted for the outdoor patio. Early in the afternoon, got in right away. Great atmosphere.

Made a spontaneous decision to eat lunch while heading down 1 to Ventura. Excellent choice. Sat outdoors upstairs, with a great view of the ocean and pier. The 805 draft was tasty. I had the standard burger which was great, and the server suggested half onion rings and sweet potato fries. Delicious. Ah, but my wife wanted the tacos with halibut, and the server suggested adding avocado and substituting with the Thai peanut slaw. Her lunch was simply outstanding (I got a couple of small bites). We love Schooner's. Nice servers, good food. If you can sit on the upstairs patio is is a great view of the ocean. Be sure to make a reservation on the weekends, they get pretty busy.
Had the Crusted Ahi Salad while enjoying the fabulous view. Excellent combination.
