I just got home from Schick Shadel Hospital and the only thing I regret was not going there years ago back when my drinking had started to become a problem, I can honestly say I have never been to a treatment facility like this before, it is very intense aversion treatment but well worth it in the end, I traveled to Seattle from here in Alaska and usually when I travel I usually stop at airport bars or order drinks on the plane, and that's exactly what I did before I got to the hospital so they had me in detox for 3 days, ma... read more

The caring staff and friendships you make help ease the transition. The program is effective. I have just shy of 7 months sober with no inclination to drink whatsoever. I recommend this place to everyone, but you gotta want it for it to work.

What more can I say. 31 years after that 10 day treatment and never a drink, never a drug, and never missed it for a second. Schick Shadel is medically like an appendicitis operation. When it's done, it's done! No more pain, just great health and sobriety.
Horrible experience. They had my daughter on a list for a week to get into medical detox she called every day waiting for a bed, she got out of her hell hole and close to hospital so she could get in as soon as they had a spot and they turned her away to die when she arrived to check in.Because of how she uses drugs and gave her a 1-800 number to call. My husband went there in Oct. Of last year. And he is still sober. They gave him his life back. And I'm very happy for that. But when we first went they told us that i would go to a session to talk to a therapist. And sadly to report that didn't happened. And I have called with concerns and they didn't help at all. So I really hope that this doesn't happen to other people
