this company should have negative stars! all you will receive is lie after lie and poor craftsmanship. you will be robbed of your money and made to look like the bad guy. do not trust a word out of any person associated with schiavi homes/ coastline homes of Oxfords mouths. they are using new customers loans to cover other projects and can not plan to save their lives. they are still ordering materials and organizing subcontracts 5 months after the "worst case scenario" move in date. they do not care about their customers ev... read more
RUN!!! BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Things start out great in the planning stage but then once you sign the contract - watch out! They do not deserve even 1 star is correct! We also were building what we thought to be our dream home and the home we will grow old in. They have been such a nightmare to deal with. We entered the contract in August of '21, they poured the foundation later that month and then it sat idle until the house was delivered in October. Buyer beware. They start out great, but once your home is delivered and set on the foundation, they disappear. When we finally got in...set in October, got keys end of March...went over the punch list...they never came back. Finally got some work done...in December of 2023....sheetrock mainly, now can't get them back to finish the punch list. It will be 2 years in April that we moved in. We would not recommend Schiavi Custom Builders to anyone.
They don't even deserve 1 star. Schiavi completely ruined what was supposed to be our dream home. They didn't start construction on our home for several months. They finally had the concrete foundation poured and they were told that it needed to be capped as snow was on the way. I also told them to cap it due to the incoming snow. They never capped it. My wife and I bought a brand new mobile home through Schiavis in Oxford Maine. The whole process has been a joke in December 2021 we were told our place would be delivered February 16. We had just gotten out of the hospital having Covid. We got everything packed an indoor storage unit in time the house actually showed up the end of April . We also started with Schiavi in 2016 with great expectations. It didn't last long. Our project manager was fired, at least we assume. The house showed up and we had to get help from friends getting it up our drive after it was approved by their driver. What a nightmare. The roof was a mess and had to be redone 4 times to get it straight. All our finish work is an eyesore. I don't think any one working for Schiavi learned how to read a tape or a level.
