We would give 0 stars if we could. You are better off going with no home inspection than using Scott, because you would at least not waste the money on the inspection fee. Please note that his “errors and omissions” insurance only covers the cost of the inspection, and it expires after one year. This inspector not only damaged my home during the inspection, he lied about it to me and the prospective buyers. His apparent goal was to “earn his fee” by exaggerating any and all defects. From the first moment he walked in the door he was incensed that I asked to remain in my home during his inspection. No other inspector has ever had a problem with that. Beware of this man.
I am a Realtor and have regularly recommended the Scheunemann's and Brian in particular to my clients for their personal home inspections. They have consistently done a thorough job and have spent an extensive amount of time walking through the property to explain the inspection findings to my clients above and beyond what is necessary to show noted defects in the home.
I am a first time homebuyer and very new to all the terms and procedures that come with owning a home. I looked at my inspection report and had a few questions about it. I called Scott to ask, since he was the one that did the inspection. He was extremely rude and confrontational on the phone. He would not take blame for anything and did not explain things well at all, many times raising his voice at me.
