Historic Restaurant, Great Variety Scalles is housed in an old historic warehouse. Most of the food is quite tasty, with a large variety to choose from (including daily specials). Entrees are inexpensive, ranging anywhere from $3-$10. Scalles is a great place to meet for a relaxed lunch hour, though it can get crowded due to the smaller size. I would highly recommend their soup specials, which change daily. PROS: CONS: Go for an early or a late lunch, as the it can be crowded around noontime.
Great selection, terrible management The busboy who was running the front counter had to get his manager to check my out-of-state drivers license, I have never had an issue before with my ID so I didn't see it as a problem. The manager subsequently rejected my two forms of ID because he couldn't "verify their authenticity", which is just a canned statement to be able to reject sales to whomever he pleases.
