Charlie was great today!!
My 2 sons and I had our first introduction to fly fishing yesterday with Charlie. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, day on the river and guide! While we didn't hook any trout we all had hits and action! We now have a great base to build on thanks to Charlie and his 5 decades of knowledge he shared with us! We are all hooked and already can't wait to go again soon! What a great set up Mike has with Savage River Outfitters...We'll be back!
We had an incredible half day trip out on the river with Charlie. Both of us had never picked up a fly rod before and within an hour or so we were fishing for trout!!! Great time and we will see you again soon Charlie.
I am new to fly fishing and had actually taken an "Introduction to Fly Fishing" class at Potomac State College earlier in the year where Charlie was one of the instructors. I enjoyed it so much I decided to spend a day fishing with him this past fall. I found Charlie to be a wealth of knowledge, eager to answer my questions and help me learn the ropes. The entire Savage River staff are friendly and welcoming. If I could give them 6 stars I would. Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful sport! - Mike Wyatt
those feeder streams in high water can be excellent places to fish..
Both Mike and Charlie were extremely helpful and kind to my 17 year old son who had tons of questions. My son is new to fly fishing and the guys made him feel welcome and boosted his confidence. This little shop along the Savage River is a hidden gem. We will definitely be back!
