RecommendedI was referred by my oncologist because we were simply running out of drugs to try to treat my sarcoma. They offer clinical trials that gives me some options & hope. Dr. Chawalla is extremely friendly & kind of a character but serious about his work. His support staff and nurses have also been very kind & helpful. Apparently people travel from all over to recieve treatment there. I am fortunate.
I have met patients there with stage 4 cancer, who have taken several clinical trials and are still alive after 2-7 years. Most of the trials have way less side effects than usual chemo, too! So happy I found them! I am on day 16 of my clinical trial with no noticeable side effects! Thank you to all the doctors and nurses there. ❤️
I started treatments at Dr. Chawla’s in 2003 with AIM chemotherapy. It killed the tumors in my lungs. I continued with 3 years of interferon treatment. I have been Leiomyosarcoma cancer free for 16 years. Dr. Chawla has always been personable and has long term patients share with new patients about what we have been through. I've been taking my friend to the center for a year now since May 2016 and she is doing great.
They are doing amazing work at this center. Just know that you'll have to stay on top of the staff they are disorganized but it's worth it because the work they are doing here is saving lives!
