My wife and I often have been patients at SMH in the past few years. We’ve always been treated with kindness and compassion by the staff and doctors.
I had surgery this past Monday the sixth. And all of my care staff were the most wonderful, kind people. From Kayla in preop to my nurses: Danielle Tori Joy and the assistant Rich. Each and everyone of them made me feel so calm and well cared for.
I had surgery on 12/26 and was finally discharged on 12/30. Everyone at SMH, from receptionists, cleaning crew, food and nutrition staff, PCTs, nurses, and physicians were nothing short of wonderful, caring, attentive, competent and compassionate. Thank you for taking care of me with such attention and genuine care. You made my stay possible and are surely part of my healing. To the HR department, Great job choosing and hiring only the best! Thank you, gracias, merci. Love SMH. ❤️💕
Let me tell you I'm very picky and unbelieving of Doctors and hospitals. I'm very very happy with Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Dr. Hicks (was super awesome), the nurses Kathy, Pam, and Sarah in room 626. They were just exceptional. Some Doctors are great at what they do but are terrible people.....people. Some Nurses are great at what they do but are terrible people...people. My wife's and my experience with the staff was that they were not only Great, but they were wonderful people. This is hard to accomplish in a staff. I L... read more

SMH is one of the best...thanks to all who made my unexpected stay a great and reassuring experience...but I’m glad to be home. 😁
Had surgery plus 23 hour admission. Entire process was so streamlined that there was very little waiting and I felt like I was cared for instead of just my diagnosis or procedure.
