This building has been an incredibly frustrating place to live. The constant construction is disruptive, noisy, and poorly managed. Residents receive little notice, and the work drags on without consideration for those of us living here. To make matters worse, the construction workers repeatedly refuse to share the elevators with tenants, leaving residents waiting unnecessarily long or forced to rearrange their schedules. I'm going to really miss this place. Excellent value for the size of the apartments, the beautiful rooftop, the unobstructed southern view (a rarity in NYC), and the great location. The doormen are some of the kindest, most genuine people you'll meet, and I'm very much going to miss our daily interactions. They made my day every morning and made the Saranac feel like home for four years. Would highly recommend living here.

We've lived here for 4 years and finally could not stand it and we moved out. There is construction that starts at 7am every morning and wakes us up even when using earplugs! This construction was supposed to last 1 year, and here we are 3 years later with no end in sight. Much of the gym equipment doesn't work, the TVs are all broken, it's nothing like in the pictures (or even how it was 4 years ago), so definitely check it out before you sign a lease.
