Always great for us Many Psychietrists just do medications. He takes time to ask questions and is very kind with children... tries to connect with then which is VERY important to get children to speak freely about what bothers them. Very thorough. I am happy we found him. And for the disgruntled person who gave a 1 star review..... yes he has a long wait list BECAUSE he is good. Shame for leaving 1 star!!!
Horrible. I have spent hours researching docs only to call for an appointment to be told that USF Psychiatry Health doctors ARE not taking new patients and that ALL of the online information is quite OLD. Seriously! This definitely does not reflect well for someone who is supposed to be in the business of mental health.
Dr Smith refused TWICE to help me yet SHE is the doctor on my referral. I was misdiagnosed by her NP Heather. In August she REFUSED to interpret my MRI results stating “having never met you,it would be wholly inappropriate for me to give you feedback on your scan”. In September my Moffitt doctor asked her to see me. She REFUSED saying she had a “huge load”. DR AMANDA G SMITH DID NOT CARE until she was contacted by her Risk Management department and only then offered to speak with me by phone
It takes a while to get in and see her but it is worth the wait. Dr. Smith took so much time to explain to me about my mother's dementia and was so helpful in getting her behaviors and sleep problems under control. She gave me a lot of resources in my area. You never have to wait long in the office and she responds to emails very quickly.
