Im a previous resident twice, kids would self harm, fight, yell, “crash out” (rip the ceiling down), break stuff, attack staff, try to kill themselves, and the residents that are not supposed to be “dating” were sexually act out, no one wants their son or daughter to go there and now they have a child when their should be other psychiatric residential treatment facilities in the country, Kids that are aggressive should not be mixed with kids who are there for mental health. Shoutout manatee staff

I was a resident at Sandy Pines for about 6 months and here was my personal experience. When I first arrived at Sandy Pines, I was hysterical and going through withdrawal. I wasn’t necessarily met with 100% kindness, but I wouldn’t say I was met with disrespect necessarily. I was kind of just put off to the side as long as I wasn’t doing anything crazy they didn’t really pay attention to me and what I was doing. Was there twice a kid in the 90s, and for reasons I won't discuss it, but for profit mental health isn't a good idea, I never got restrained or even had consequences I was there for 3 weeks and 5 weeks and it was horrible back then and it's only gotten worse.

I had a very positive experience with SandyPines. The doctors are highly professional, attentive, and truly caring. The staff is incredibly friendly, compassionate, and understanding, always treating patients with kindness and respect. The facility itself has very good conditions and provides a comfortable, welcoming environment. Overall, I am very grateful for the care and support we received. I would definitely recommend SandyPines to anyone looking for professional and compassionate psychiatric care.
