This place was absolutely disgusting, and a health hazard. Immediately upon arrival, we discovered the toilet did not work at all. The area behind the toilet was disgusting, there were cords hanging out everywhere and metal furniture rusting and peeling in places that could easily cut you when you walk by. My two year old was absolutely disgusting after 10 minutes of being in this room. His feet were black with grime, his legs were turning brown, our shoes and clothes got covered in grime. Literal walking distance to the public beach access. Park your car at the hotel for your trip. You are walking distance from nearly everything fun on that end of the island. This room was clean and modest. Very clean which was a great surprise. They are so hospitable that they allowed late check ins so we could come at our own pace without being stressed out. The Sandcastle Inn was a great spot- easy to work with, close to the beach, and friendly staff. Close to south beach restaurants and shops, we felt safe and got a good night’s resf. I would stay here again!

The hotel itself seems a little ran down on the outside but we didn’t let that make our decision. when we walked in we were like it’s so nice and cute!! Until midnight rolled around and i got up to use the bathroom (we were only stopping through because i had surgery in NC and was heading back home to FL) when i got up in the middle of the night i saw numerous German roaches crawling around so the place has bugs.
