As an Orcas Island resident for less than a week, I experienced symptoms consistent with a retinal tear. I reached out to Dr. Castagna's office and someone got back to me right away. Even though I was not a current patient, they worked me into their schedule, on their lunch hour, and even helped me make arrangements to board my puppy when it became clear I would need to go off island for treatment. I was seen by Dr. Castagna for an eye injury that was deteriorating quickly. He was incredibly thorough and competent. He found and removed some foreign objects on my eyelid after which my condition immediately turned around and has been improving, and I am extremely appreciative of the care he provided. For all I know it saved my vision in one of my eyes. I can’t recommend enough

While the staff was personable and professional, they did NOT inform me of all their additional charges. Additionally, what they charged for one procedure was 33% higher than what Medicare would approve. I ended up with a bill of $355 for a simple eye exam and glasses prescription. Just be sure to ask for, in writing, the TOTAL COST.

Dr. White found the right frames for me in about 30 seconds and now I have glasses I can happily wear all day when I don't want to wear contacts. Dr. White is great and J... read more
