Do not go to this doctor or San Antonio Gastroenterology Endoscopy Center - North if you do not like getting passed around from the front desk and given no answers or resolve. I specifically asked for an unsedated colonoscopy because I don’t have someone to drive me and don’t have a good reaction to anesthesia, and I was passed around from operator to operator until someone (who didn’t even say her name) said, “no we don’t do that. Day of procedure was fantastic, but trying to speak with anyone in the office is almost impossible. I had questions before my scheduled day and couldn’t get in touch with anyone. I finally decided to go into the office to try to speak with someone. They have a little sign that says to ring the bell for service. I did, and waited for ten minutes for someone to come to the window only to have them tell me that the person I needed to speak to had just left for the day. Everyone I spoke to on the phone or in person was wonderful! Special shout-outs to Erica, Harley, Ken, Lillie, Davide, Priscilla, and Dr. Johnson. Sometimes it is a challenge to get them on the phone, but the remainder of the process was easy, well organized, and helpful.
I had my first appointment with Dr. Mallikarjun, who saw me and recommended both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. I scheduled both procedures with the front office that same day. Two days before my endoscopy, my PCP’s office called to confirm some details. Shockingly, the front desk told my PCP’s nurse that I had never been seen there and wasn’t a patient of Dr. Mallikarjun.
