Dr. Norman San Agustin took time to explain to me and and my husband the disease, surgery, the expected outcome, and the not so ideal outcome. He put both my husband and I at ease and we left the office fully informed and know that we made the right decision. I had a previous colon resection which made the laparoscopic cholecystectomy extremely difficult and challenging. Dr. San Agustin could very well chose to do an "open surgery" but he persevered and carefully and successfully completed the laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Th... read more

I would not go to him at all. My husband had surgery on Friday and was in Pain on Monday. He called the Dr's office in the morning. The Dr's office said that thy would return his phone call and no had called all day and around 4:30 PM i dedcided to call the dr myself. I agree with others that he amy have the knowledge but no manners at all. In conclusion, I would avoid him and go see someone else.

Very clear description of the illness, very calming attitude. Drew a very helpful diagram as well. He does run late and office waiting area in Morristown is small, Denville office much nicer.

Dr. San Agustin took the time to explain my condition so I would understand the necessity of the surgery. He even drew a diagram :)! He does have many offices, and the one in Morristown is in a furnished basement of a home, and it is not dirty by far. His bedside manner, along with his colleagues, are impeccable. I would recommend this services to anyone that needed a good surgeon. I needed surgery fast and they had me scheduled immediately. He made my family comfortable and answered all their questions, but most importantly... read more

I agree more or less with the other two posts. The office isn't charming, but I really don't care about that - it appears clean to me. However, the staff seems harried and has to function in a very small space. The doctor's lateness has been a problem every time I've gone. His manner? Like other surgeons I've dealt with, the office bit seems a necessary nuisance - expect more care and enthusiasm at procedure time.

Terrible experience. Office in a dilapidated house(home?) Waiting room with no hat or coat hooks. Wait time is totally unacceptable and when queried after an hour about when I might get, in was told he's catching up on filing (while eight people wait to get in)! In person, he seems more interested in his quitar playing and singing career than your problems. Office hours are a closely held secret with rumors that he may be open some evenings as his whim dictates. Seldom get call back on messages left. How does he stay in busi... read more

I do not recommend Dr. San Agustin. Although he may be knowledgeable and experienced, he has a poor bedside manner. There are just better ways to say certain things. In addition, the condition of his waiting room, exam rooms, and office is appalling -- dirty, old, and unwelcoming. It bothered me that he doesn't care about these things. He could very well be an excellent surgeon, but I did not give him the chance to operate on me. Personality and cleanliness are important to me. There are many other surgeons to choose from.
