Best Sushi chef – If you love sushi then you must go and see Kevin and Gumba. You not only have the best sushi in town, you also get a pleasant atmosphere. Kevin is one of the best sushi chefs there. We love Samurai Sushi.
samurai sushi – We drive past Mikuni's to go to Samurai sushi. If you want to be treated right request Justin for a table or sit at the bar and have Steve make you a tasty cocktail and serve you great sushi. If you are a regular you are definitely treated right. If something does not go well ask to speak to the owners and they will make it right.
SUSHI TO FILL YOUR CRAVINGS – My friend and I meet here as often as possible. Justin is their best server and always willing to recommend something new! I have eaten at most of the sushi places in the area, and Samuri is in the top 2. (Samuri and Makuni's are tied, they each have different styles it just depends on what you are in the mood for.) Their salad dressing is to die for! I would say that 98% of the time, I have had excellent service and food! Parking is an issue only during their busiest times.
Fabulous – I have never written an online review for a restaurant but this sushi compelled me to do it. From the outside the restaurant doesnt look like anything special, but the atmosphere inside was very appealing, family friendly, helpful staff, and the food was amazing. When I go back to Sacramento I will definitely make sure to stop by again.
I love Samurai Sushi – This place is has some really fresh quality fish. Prices are reasonable and the waitstaff is super friendly. People who really know the quality of their fish come to Samurai. That comment below me is obviously written by an novice sushi eater, because if you want to order sushi without sauce then you should order a plain maki roll. I definately reccomend this place.
Fresh fish but bad service – This is definitely not the restaurant for a romantic sushi evening. The noise level is very high, so you almost have to shout across the table to be heard. The last three times I have eaten there, I have chosen to sit a table to very bad service results. While the waitstaff is friendly, it leaves much to be desired. i'm sure it's great – i was trying to write a review for a samuria sushi in fresno, i somehow ended up here, sorry if the bad review i posted for the fresno restaurant is still posted.
Great Unagi – This place has great sushi rolls. I ordered two different unagi (eel) rolls, both very good. The service was pretty fast, and the staff was friendly. The wait was minimal even during lunch hour.
One of the best sushi restaurants in the Sac Area. Samurai has a lot to offer. An extensive sushi menu including several original rolls, friendly staff, and ample space. The decor is a bit overwhelming and noisy, but the food makes up for it. It is a great restaurant for midweek dining. Their sushi specials are a great value. Loud environment makes the restaurant kid-friendly. You won't be concerned about your child disturbing patrons.
