I went there originally for pins and needles but the appointment was moved ahead due to an ingrown nail. I waited over an hour in an empty office with no word. I was finally brought back to a room and I only have two things to say about this visit: 1) Dr. Cox said maybe 5 words to me total. I don’t think he made eye contact at all. 2) I had an abscess due to the nail, but I didn’t know that at the time. Dr. Cox just took scissors out of a drawer and cut the abscess without explaining anything. He left me with poorly wrapped ... read more

I saw Dr. Cox for severe pain in my big toe. He took an X-ray and told me my pain was caused by hyperflexibility in my joints. My pain persisted despite his recommendations, so I got a second opinion. The second doctor identified a fracture in my big toe right away. I went back to Dr. Cox's office and looked at his X-ray in person. The fracture was easy to see in the X-ray, but Dr. Cox didn't take the time to do a thorough exam and diagnose me correctly. The doctor I saw for the second opinion was very thorough and had me wi... read more

Didn't help much, still have pain in my ankle. I was told to bring in my MRI disk so he could look at it. Never got the disk back, the front office wasn't sure what happened to it. And I never heard back from him. He just wanted me to spend hundreds of dollars for custom insoles. The MRI Dr. told me I had a torn ligament, But Dr. Cox said it was like "tennis elbow", off the x-ray he did.

Unfortunately, I agree with the 1 Star ratings posts. I too walked out. The office was just filthy with discarded wound wrappings in the trash can. I could not stay in the room any longer and breath the toxic environment. This should have been in a Bio Hazard disposal container. Heaven help any homeless person who picks through the dumpster at night! Not sure what medical board would have to say? My insurance better not be billed! I agree, I felt it was all about the $$$.

Stay clear of this very unprofessional practice! They have caused me yet another year of pain and my ankle that I have to deal with because of their scheduling and insurance verification. Their website says they take my insurance BCBS they told me when I made the appointment, but yet again for the second year in a row they call me the same day of my appointment this time telling me they don't take my insurance and I would have to be self pay!

Not good. Everything seemed to revolve around MONEY. Too many discrepancies with regards to deductibles, insurance and co-pays. They wanted to take a ridiculous amount of money up front without actually calling insurance. In addition, was threatened by front office (while at the office) that if I decided to go home instead if staying for appt that I would still be billed for an office visit. It's sad when staff experience affects review b/c the Dr. was kind but will never return or recommend.

Business response:

We are sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience with our office. We strive to provide patients with the highest quality of care, to get them back to doing whatever they want to do without pain. We do verify all patient's insurance prior to their visit, as a service, whenever possible, so that patients are aware of any deductibles or co-pays for which they are responsible. This allows them to make an informed decision as to what works best for them and their individual circumstance.

This was my first visit. He did a thorough examination of my feet and noted every little detail. This was a good start. However, prior to departing, he attempted to sell me numerous foot products in which you can buy like products OTC. He also wanted to schedule me to be cast for orthotics in his office vs, going through my Ins carrier which would have cost me mega bucks and made mega bucks for himself instead. Impression: bottom line; money over patient care.........

Business response:

Our goal is to provide treatments that are evidence-based when applicable, to get our patients back to their normal lifestyle as quickly as possible. We provide many different services and products, all of which have been researched, tested, and are of high quality and often provide superior results. We regularly go out to pharmacies, big box stores/Walmart, and shoe stores to help find solutions that are cost effective for our patients and when applicable refer our patients to those sources.

I would not use this doctor. I attempted to do a first visit with him and ended up walking out of the office after sitting in the waiting room/examination room for over an hour! The ladies at the front desk were very nice, but the practice obviously has issues with scheduling and patient management. There are enough other options in the area that this guy is not worth waiting on.

Business response:

We are very sorry for your inconvenience and wait at our office. We strive to see our patients on time. We try and do all the insurance verifications and authorizations prior to patients visits, but there are times when that is not possible. We ask our patients either fill out the new patient paperwork, before their appointment or arrive early to do so. We strive to do our best and always provide the highest medical care possible for all our patients. We also do treat emergent issues.
