This review is long over due now that i no longer live in boston. After seeing dr. Maghuyop as a first time patient for a yearly checkup - I was alerted that i might have sickle cell. He ordered me to do TEN blood tests and a stool sample onto top of 3 blood test i had already taken during my first visit. All these tests were required thru quest diagnostic (which of course was conveniently within the office) and I personally felt more like i was targeted to be a money drain. Dr. Maghuyop seemed quite dismissive of my concerns. While his overall demeanor was pleasant, I got the sense that he did not believe my symptoms were real. I came in with a neurological issue, and the only assessment he did was listen to heart and lungs. I am a nurse; I know there are some very basic neuro assessments that should be done for anyone with nerve/neurological complaints. I saw Dr. Maghuyop today for a follow-up appointment and was so impressed with his attention, his warmth, his patient/doctor interaction, his recommendations for what I need to do and the relaxed time he gave me. I would recommend him highly.
