Had an echo scan on my heart recently at the Newport Samaritan Hospital. The tech performing the procedure was very professional. Took about 30 minutes for the test. We were early, but wait wasn’t long. Receptionist was courteous and asked a few health questions and verified my heath insurance coverage. Everything and everyone was fine.
Edit Feb 2025: They still choose to discriminate against fat patients. Years later and there is still ZERO SURGICAL support for fat people. No biopsies, no emergency surgery, no standard colonoscopy!!! Have fun driving an hour or more away while you're chockablock full of laxatives! This community needs to have a serious discussion regarding the operation of the "community" hospital, and if this organization is the right fit to provide care here. Revolving door of doctors here, no continuity of care. Basic doctor visits are fine, no qualms with the specialty care received. Just don't expect to see the same PCP repeatedly. I would rather drive to Corvallis or Toledo to be seen. Just all around bad vibes, but what can you do when Samaritan has a stranglehold/monopoly on medical services here on our coast.
I was a patient at the woman’s health clinic for a current pregnancy. I have an emergency room visit on Monday 1/20/25. I was told to follow up in two days with my doctor. I called Tuesday morning and spoke with Amy at the front desk of the woman’s clinic. Amy told me she had scheduled me for Thursday afternoon.
