I had surgery two weeks ago, and unfortunately my experience could not have been more different than what’s described in other reviews. While individual staff members at Corvallis Ambulatory Surgery Center were polite, the overall experience felt profit-centered rather than patient-centered. I’ve had prior surgeries and procedures where it was standard practice to numb the hand before starting an IV. When I requested this, I was met with a surly attitude. I just had knee surgery today. The whole team that took care of me was kind, caring, and professional. In Pre-Op, Tabitha, Marcus, and Cricket made sure I was comfortable and answered all my questions which helped with my fears. The anesthesiologist came and talked me through the procedure. I woke up feeling fine after surgery, not nauseous or woozy. I feel sick to my stomach over the way I had been treated by a specific nurse after waking up from anastesia after my shoulder surgery. I woke up with many questions and pain from my IV. I was hushed up and told that I was unable to recieve news of my surgery. My doctor spoke to my husband and gave him some pictures before he left for another surgery.
