Parascandola performed a colonoscopy on me over four years ago; because my at home ColoGuard test returned positive for colon cancer, they called me from the laboratory and told me I definitely had colon cancer and needed a colonoscopy as soon as possible; I did not want to undergo a colonoscopy and asked to redo the test; they said no, the insurance would not pay for it; I felt forced and pushed to undergo the colonoscopy as they kept contacting me to get it done. The prep directions that were given in the packet said, "4 hours before your scheduled arrival time: drink the remaining miralax solution." My arrival time was was 12pm. I drank solution at 8, called the nurse at 9:15 because i was extremely nauseous. She said rest 30 minutes or so before continuing. Nurse before surgery explained the doctor could not operate, but also noted that I was very weak. The verbal instructions should be written and included in the packet.
