Dilapidated and roach infested I rented one of these apartments for daughter who is a student at SIU. We live in chicago so we did everything online. I asked for photos of the apartment and they looked similar to what is posted on here. When we arrived it looked like a condemned property. The carpets were soiled and the smell was awful. Nice starter apartments. Nice first apartment. Maintenence is fast. Didn't have any problems with staff or anything else with the community.
As the other comments stated, the Wifi is crap! the management seems to not know what their doing about to cause me to file a lawsuit if she (Christina Boden) doesn't get it together. The maintenance guys are on point, you tell them the problem and they'll fix it the same day if they do not have a full schedule. I've been here since 2016 and the best management was Kayla Suits and now they replaced her with some 💩💩 that doesnt know what their doing.
Don’t live here! I’ve been living here almost 3 years and I cannot wait to leave! I have an updated unit which is fine, came with microwave and updated appliances. My problems are hallways upkeep , thin walls , no peephole on your door & inconsiderate neighbors and currently a bug problem. Complex also tries to get all the money they can out of you with fines or complaints that aren’t true. Some days were ok and others terrible. I just needed a cheap place to live while in school. It is extremely loud here. I have called the police on several occasions. The property manager * ***** ****s, has done NOTHING to stop the noise. In fact, she called me a "racist" and threatened me with eviction. I offered to vacate early if the property manager chose to cancel my rent, but she refused the offer.
Noisy neighbors & Thin Walls. Been living here for 3 going on 4 years. While like the refurbished rooms Ive consistently had tOK file noise complaints that the staff refuse to properly address. all solutions have ben temporary and mediocre at best. The floors thin enough to hear clearly into the unit above or below Bass travels easily through walls and there has been nothing from management in assuring all tenants are aware of disturbing others. Nice rooms very nice staff! Rooms are very nice. I wish the hallway and stairs were cleaner and smelled better.
Saluki Apartments Overall, the apartments are a good price for the size. Large windows, so it's not dark and dingy. Good location, close to campus and main st where all the stores and restaurants are. Parking is free and water is included, which is nice as well. Laundry facilities are relatively close to all of the apartments. They advertise free internet, but you're better off getting your own internet and weren't very helpful when trying to access the "free internet" they advertise.
