We ordered their straight “Summit“ staircase. This is supposedly a pre-engineered, worked-out design. In other words, it is not a one-off design on our behalf. Like so many others, we have dealt with numerous fabrication and field assembly problems. Most notably railing posts in no way comply with building code requirements. Instead of providing hardware that securely attaches the posts to the stringers, Paragon /Salter provided threaded inserts that are not welded to the posts. As a builder, I rely on suppliers to deliver accurately and on time. My order with Salter Spiral Stairs initially arrived incomplete, which was frustrating given my project deadlines. Fortunately, Amy quickly stepped in — she was extremely helpful and understanding — and arranged to have the missing pieces shipped 2-day air. Overall a great experience. From the first call to installation I have no complaints. Install was pretty easy, definitely need a good helper if you do it yourself.
