American Red Cross seems more like a business than a non-profit. When my wife and I have tried donating with American Red Cross on separate occasions and locations, they denied us because we didn't have appointments. Staff members were even hanging around during these donation attempts. If the area is in such a blood shortage, why would they turn away donors?
