I have a primo who works as a correctional officer there but I don't know how well the place is as a correctional facility

Had a awesome time yesterday with prison fellowship ministries at salinas valley state prison in Charlie yard first time ever for any such thing god is good! Thanks to the wardens and correctional officers and staff! U guys rock

This facility treats visitors like criminals. Some officers were very nice but for the most part it appears visitors are more of a bother than appreciating those who drive hours to see a loved ones. They are not equipped to handle the level of visitors there. They are understaffed going in side and over staffed going out. They have that backwards. I did my best to ecnor one officer picking on me and another made an advance. The state needs to go through that place and clean house.
