I have moved into the Salem Cross Apartments and noticed right away that things weren't what I thought they would be. For example, there is not suppose to be smoking in the building at anytime but there is, not only smoking but smoking of cannabis too! When I vocalized my complaint in regards to this, as well as an unruly tenant that continues to make loud noises (which is a violation of the tenant agreement) nothing became of it. THE CURRENT OFFICE MANAGER IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. SHE DOES NOT EXPLAIN ANYTHING FULLY,ALWAYS HAS SOMEONE ELSE SPEAK FOR HER EVEN WHEN SHE IS PRESENT. I HAD SEVERAL SITUATIONS OCCUR WHILE I WAS A TENANT THERE AND EACH TIME WAS HANDLED POORLY AND SO THE VILLAGE WAS CONTACTED EACH TIME. EACH ONE WAS A SAFETY VIOLATION AND HAZARD,THEN I RECEIVED A LETTER FOR NON-RENTAL. WHEN I QUESTIONED IT I WAS TOLD THAT WE DON'T HAVE TO PROVIDE A REASON,BUT THE ONLY REASON WOULD BE RETALIATION BECAUSE I WAS NOT A BAD TENANT AND NEVER MISSED ... read more

I have lived at this complex for four years and the management has gotten worse over the years. They are unprofessional and they are now trying to bind me into a 16 month lease agreement because they are trying to avoid people from moving during winter months. They have also raised my rent every year and they don't like to deal with tenant complaints or issues.
