If a restaurant's Point-of-Sale (POS) system suggests a tip percentage, the math should apply to the subtotal (pre-tax amount) not the taxed amount. Tips left at the customer’s discretion are not subject to Georgia state sales tax. 😑 I left a 22% tip on the handheld device, but I didn't realize until afterward that the tip was calculated on the total amount including tax. I did not expect to be tipping on the tax portion of the bill!
