Authentic Japanese Sushi Prepared by Japanese Chelf It's very rare to find sushi prepared by Japanese Chelf. We get them at Jewel and Chinese Buffet. To get the real taste of sushi, there is no better place than Sakuma Restaurant in Streamwood, IL. Great food and great experience! My boyfriend and I decided to try the "Omakase" course meal. Basically, the chef prepares sushi courses picked by himself. It was the best sushi we have ever had! So many amazing fresh ingredients and unique combinations of flavors. Not to mention, the head chef/owner is very personable. I highly recommend this place for an authentic, one of a kind experience!
Terrible terrible terrible. This place used to be so good. Now, I call to place an order and they are closed. They are supposed to be open. I've checked their published hours over and over again. It's happened to me 5 times now. I even called, and some said.. well, we are not sure if we are opening tonight. What? Why? I can't tell you. What? Seriously? I'm DONE with you Sakumas! You have absolutely zero respect for your customers.
By far the best sushi is the area. I have compared ... and you immediately taste the difference. Sakuma's ingredient quality is by far the best and it shows.
We wanted to find an excellent sushi place near our new apartment. This was the first restaurant we tried. And...mission accomplished.
I'm sure it's a great place, but I really wish their patrons would stop parking in front of the busy busy pizza place for hours on end.
