Was in the Emerg Dept on Dec 23, the nurses, admitting clerk and Dr were absolutely amazing. They offered and gave excellent care.
I have a serious case of strep throat, I told the front staff, a nurse and the doctor that I am allergic to Penicillin. No one wrote it down, and I figured I got to the doctors a few times a year maybe its already on a piece of paper. NOPE, I go to get my prescription filled and the pharmacist tells me I cant have it, I have to wait for the Doctor to change the prescription, that was yesterday, if the doctor doesn't do it today I gave to wait until after the weekend to even get some relief. I called the hospital to ask if they were accepting new patients, and I was helped by a lovely lady named Rosanne at the front desk. She was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the whole process. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made the experience so smooth and stress-free. Truly appreciate her professionalism and warm attitude — thank you, Rosanne, for your excellent service!
I would give this 0 if I could, went in this evening. There were 0 people in the waiting room, I didn't have an " emergency " but I needed a prescription asap for birth control and am not able to leave work to go do this in the daytime.so I went after hours.there were at least 5 staff just sitting around in the back. Was very impressed with the Melville hospital. When l called to see how busy it was they said it would not be a long wait. Told them we had no family doctor and asked if any doctors were taking new patients. The lady at the hospital gave me a number for the community service right in the hospital. They had two doctors taking new patients. When l called the receptionist was very nice. I told her l was looking for a doctor. Told her my son was ill for over a week and not getting any better.
