I'm shocked by the 1 star reviews! We live in between plymouth and winimac, and we MUCH prefer St J over any other hospital in the area. We have seen Dr. Dejong in the ER a few times and have been extremely happy with his care. He's kind, wants to hear from you. Doesn't see you for five seconds and send you packing. He listens to your concerns and addresses them. In the last 4 years, I have been to the ER and both of my kids and each time I leave feeling confident in his dx and with his care plan. Went in with severe shoulder injury. They did an x-ray, said they found nothing, called it a sprain. It took 3 hours. Got an MRI from a specialist later, and got the injury properly addressed. It was not a sprain...

I went in with a burst appendix. Without even giving me any sort of exam, I was made out to be looking for pain medication. Given psych drugs and sent home to sleep through the pain. Ended up spending 8 days in another hospital while they cleaned up St. Joe's mess.
