Chi cerca trova, one of the best little restaurants in all of Austin. – This was my first experiance at Sagra and I was very impressed. I was there on a Friday night and it was a full house. Their was five of us in our group and had reservations, greeted and were promptly seated. Our waitress Alex was very attentive and helpful with what to choose off the menu, she really was on top of things. Everything on the menu sounded great, and we all decided to try as much as we could. We ordered a few different appetizers. Everythin... read more

Best Pizza in Austin – I have been to sagra a couple times over the last couple of months and they have the best pizza in austin. The place is really beautiful and I have been there for happy hour and had a pizza and five beers for $10. Yeah $10. What a deal.

Disappointed – I'm so sorry to write this review because I was looking forward to finding a new gem. The evening started out with a drink in the little cozy bar section. Unfortunately, the 2 bartenders were miserable from the start. My boyfriend and I felt like we had ruined their evening by sitting at the bar. He shook a pathetic martini (granted, I'm sure the wine would have been a more apopos choice) and we sat in total discomfort because of their attitudes. We thankfully were transferred to our table in the outdoor patio... read more

What are we celebrating? – My friend from out of town and I went for a relaxing tuesday dinner. We both liked the location and setting. The wine list was marginal for an italian restaurant. The appetizer list was ok. We ordered the mozarella caprese, and thought it was average. The mozarella was a little dry and the basil seemed liked it had been chopped and stored in a fridge until someone ordered it. After that, the main course, I had the wild boar shanks with a risoto. The wild boar tasted like bland pot-roast and the ris... read more

Great patio – This is a great place to go for dinner or drinks on the patio! We went there on a chilly night but the heaters made it quite comfortable. Try it out!

could be better – I ate at Sagra just once, and I love the location, they did a good job in remodeling what Lory had with Mars before. I'm italian, born and race in Italy and I was extited to try their pizza, but I have to say that, even if the portion is just fine and they clame they use fresh ingredients, you can't say their pizza is an original italian pizza at all. The real pizza was born in Napoli and if you have ever been there you will know the difference.

Great Authentic Italian Food – I have been to Sagra twice over the past few weeks and it was great both times. The restaurant looks like an Italian farmhouse and makes for a great atmosphere for drinks or dinner. The pizzas are made in a real wood burning oven. Before this place opened, I was afraid Austin would never have any good pizza. It is so refreshing that the pizzas aren't drowned with cheese or toppings and have a nice thin crispy crust. I am glad they are not trying to make their menu Texas friendly (like so many r... read more

Not so Great!! – I heard about this restaurant through the grapevine and I was really excited to try it out. It had all the right ingredients to be a spectacular restaurant..unfortunately it was everything but. The place it self is beautiful and very romantic although there are way to many tables and it's quite difficult for the servers to maneuver around the seats just to get to your table. We ate there on a tues night and even though it was pretty busy, the service was slow uncoordinated and frustrating. Their menu is real... read more

Business response:

We are sorry to hear that you found our restaurant not so great and our menu not appeasing. We think it is beautiful and romantic too. We were confused by your very harsh 1 star.Your hopes that we can solve our problems will be difficult with reviews like yours. Who would have known that a UT game could fill our just opened restaurant (Grand Opening Jan 26) on a Tues. Our food is not Olive Garden Italian. Our food is simple rustic trattoria Italian. Our margherita($9) has homemade mozzarella(little its true), San Marzano toma... read more

Hopefully still working out some kinks – I love trying new restaurants, but this one was a disappointment. When I go to a nice place, I expect to pay a certain price for the meal and the wine, and with that price tag I expect a certain level of service, which I did not receive at Sagra. I do not expect to be offered dessert while someone at the table is still finishing their main course, and I do not expect to be asked if I want the check immediately after received my coffee. As for the food, it wasn't spectacular. The only ... read more

Business response:

We were sorry to hear about your disappointing time at our new restaurant(Grand Opening January).I am glad to hear you think it is nice and has the potential to be great. We do not want our customers to feel rushed and would never want a dessert menu to be presented while someone is still eating.Since learning of this problem we have instituted a system so that this will not be a problem again. My wife and I are at the restaurant everyday and watch the food and service very carefully. We were very upset to hear that your dissat... read more
