I was scheduled for a cleaning/deep cleaning of my back gums. A week before the appointment i had called the office, left a message on the office voice mail that I wanted a regular cleaning and would schedule a deep cleaning at my next visit. This office engages in financial coercion and predatory upselling. Do not, I repeat, do not ever go to this location. For a normal tooth extraction procedure (2 wisdom, 2 adjacent molars), they pushed me toward unnecessary bone grafting. When I asked the surgeon what bone grafting was, he brushed it off as the “latest trend” and never mentioned it was medically necessary. I am writing to express my concern regarding the conduct of the office manager, Ms. Genevie. On my last two visits, I left waiting in the hallway for hours while she went in and out of the office. Eventually, I was informed that I would not be seen that day. When I attempted to speak with Ms. Genevie directly, she declined to acknowledge me. I found them to be rude, not transparent regarding charges. Prior to making an appointment they will refuse to find out what your insurance will cover and so if there are charges that the insurance company will not cover they will stick you with thise charges.
Stay away at all costs. This place is a ripoff. The dentist is a con man. First he told me I had no cavities, the next time he said I had cavities, the third Time he said I didn't have cavities. I kept telling him I had issues with a different molar and he totally ignored me. Then he said he would have to pull a tooth because it was infected. He lied, there was no infection, I asked to see the tooth after it was pulled and they said they already threw it away. He told me I needed several things to the tune of $1000. My faul... read more
My wife and I had an appointment here at 2 different times. We recently moved out of the area but decided to keep our appointments because we liked the hygienist there. While on the way there we received a text from the receptionist asking if we were still coming. Gave her our ETA which was 15min late from our scheduled appointment. Stay away from this guy Michael Farag. How he got a dentist license is beyond me. The guy is horrible! The first time I went there I waited two hours in the chair for him to come in to see me. He told me I had no cavities and I just needed a cleaning. The second time I saw him he said I had cavities, he spent less than five minutes with me. This place should be called "Thieves Dental" not Sage Dental. I recently had a consultation with them and they recommended a deep cleaning. They stated that they "contacted" my dentist insurance and it was going to be "fully covered". At the end they said "oh Sr I am sorry but you own us $550 today. I asked why and she said my insurance denied the payment. I called my insurance and the agent said that my next deep cleaning was going to be paid in August. Sage Dental of Altamonte Springs is absolutely AMAZING! Everyone there is friendly, kind and professional. I just had to have an old crown replaced quickly and the business manager, Amber, was so incredibly helpful and quick to get me in. Dr. Christine Mohir was also amazing, expertly skilled, gentle and kind, as was Kiera, who assisted. I have been going to Sage Dental of Altamonte Springs for 6 years and I love it!
