I've been a patient of Dr. Shahani's for at least 10 years. She is kind, knowledgeable and thorough as well as being very well trained. Her nurse, Toi, is very professional and caring. They've both been there for me when I navigated health issues not related to endocrinology. Highly recommend this very skilled and compassionate physician.
One of the worst doctors I've ever encountered. I waited months to see her since I was very symptomatic and trying to get diagnosed. The nurse was kind and listened, but all the doctor did when she came in was talk over me when I tried to explain my symptoms, cut me off, then rushed me out to get blood drawn after saying, "Well, maybe you feel bad because you're not drinking enough water." (When I do). She also tried to imply that I'm a liar and "was always fat" when the only bit of data she could pull up to prove her point ... read more
my visits are always on time, informative and thorough. Dr. Shahani is excellent. also, her nurse Toi is very helpful and answers calls faster than anyone I've ever seen!! They provide excellent care.
Whenever you see her, she always seems very focused on helping just you, never distracted. Seems very caring , to,the point that I don't want to disappoint her.
Doesn't listen to patient symptoms and testing is inadequate for proper diagnosis. Prescribes thyroid medication strictly on TSH levels. Does not believe T3 levels need to be tested or replacement medication prescribed. Will test for T4 levels, but doesn't believe that testing is really needed either. She has misdiagnosed me and set my medication levels accordingly. Therefore, I feel terrible and continue to get sicker. I don't plan on going back to this quack of a doctor!
She is a charming, friendly and engaged woman. She spoke of things I need to modify but continued to say she wanted me to still enjoy my life and eat the things I wanted, with limits. I couldn't have asked for more.
Does not listen to patient. Patient tried explaining symptoms, and gets cut off and told that they "just need to lose weight." My whole point in going is because I'm trying and not succeeding. I explained family history and pushed for further testing, but once again got cut off and said that it has nothing to do with my diagnosis, and told I needed to take the medicine that made me extremely sick.
Somewhat disconcerted she spent so much time telling me how American's overused the medical insurance system.
