I was referred to Sacramento Ear, Nose & Throat by my son’s primary care doctor, but the experience was extremely disappointing. After waiting several weeks, I called to check on the referral. I had a frustrating experience with the front desk regarding scheduling. I was told multiple times on different days that my notes were missing, even my primary doctor re-sent them. The front desk did not seem to check the updated chart notes. However, once I was connected with the patient coordinator today, the notes were located and my appointment was scheduled. The administrative process was very difficult, but the coordinator was helpful.

I have never had so much difficulty getting through to a medical office just to schedule an appointment. When I call and talk with a representative I repeatedly receive a message saying, we will schedule your appointment, but no one never call me. Finally, when I do get through to someone, I’m told that I don’t have the proper referral to schedule an appointment.

It has been over a month since I completed the sleep solution test. Since then, I have made multiple phone calls and left several voice messages, but I have not received any response or update. The lack of communication and follow-up has been very frustrating and disappointing. Timely communication is important, especially when tests and next steps are involved. I have never had as much difficulty getting through to this place simply to set up an appointment to see a doctor. I call and I'm directed to press 2 to set up an appointment and I constantly get, "this extension is not available." Huh? Are they short staffed? When I do get through I am given the option to leave a message with clear instruction and the recording says I will get a call back. The call back never comes!
